Calibration Certification Terms and Conditions
Only 1 multifunction electrical installation test instrument, or 1 set of individual electrical installation test instruments, or 1 portable appliance test instrument per delegate will be eligible for calibration check under this offer. Additional instruments can be checked at the same time at our standard rates (provided below).
Calibration check can be undertaken to most electrical installation and portable appliance test instruments complying with BS EN 61557. Some instruments, due to age, technical specification or other reasons are beyond the scope of standard calibration check equipment. In this circumstance no service will be provided.
There is no financial value alternative for this service. Delegates not requiring this service are not eligible for any alternative free of charge product or service.
No servicing, re-calibration or adjustment work will be undertaken as part of this offer. Delegates requesting calibration checks under this promotion will be advised of any non-compliance issue relating to their instrument that prevents a calibration certificate being issued. Technique Training Limited at this time do not offer any servicing, or calibration adjustment services to electrical test instrumentation associated with this promotional offer.
Delegates must make Technique Training Ltd aware of their intention to have test instrumentation checked when confirming their booking and have their instrument present with them when attending training. No postal or collection and delivery service is offered. Instruments will be returned to the delegate prior to them leaving the training centre at the end of their training day.
Technique Training Ltd reserve the right to refuse this service at any time to any requesting party where there is belief that the instrument is damaged, faulty, stolen, or otherwise unsuitable to perform calibration check services to.
FAQ's
Q. Is it a requirement to have instruments calibrated.
A. BS EN 61557 does require instruments to be within specific plus and minus tolerances to true values. Manufacturers provide information regarding the tolerances of their equipment and recommended performance criteria. Electrical regulation documents require instruments to be within these tolerances and to be performing correctly to manufacturers specification. Ways to ensure this are by formal calibration check (normally annually) with interim checks by the user. Or, a regime of regular checks made by the user against known static values with fully documented logging of results (this is generally only seen as a way of extending the period between formal calibration checks).
Q. Who can perform formal calibration checks.
A. Standards requires a person checking and certifying instrument calibration to have sufficient competence in this function. Knowledge of the specific procedures and performance standards is essential.
Q. What happens if my instrument is not within tolerance when checked.
A. Under the terms of this offer Technique Training Ltd are offering to perform a calibration check. Any servicing, re-calibration or adjustments will need to undertaken by an authorised agent. To prevent a potential "poacher and gamekeeper" scenario, Technique Training Ltd do not offer these services. No charge will be made for calibration checks where a certificate of calibration cannot be issued.
Q. How much does it cost to have additional instruments calibrated at the same time as my free one.
A. Our standard charge for instrument calibration check is £15.00 + VAT. If an Instrument check results in a non-compliance report there is no further charge. A further charge of £30.00 + VAT is made for issue of a calibration certificate. Therefore the total cost for calibration check and issue of calibration certification for either, 1 multifunction electrical installation test instrument, or 1 set of individual electrical installation test instruments, or 1 portable appliance test instrument is £45.00 + VAT
