Roland's Story City and Guilds 2391

Many people believe that the IT bubble has now well and truly burst! A large proportion of people enquiring about our courses are people with either IT skills or some connection with the IT industry. The comments we get are that they are having trouble finding or progressing to a suitable position and that the work no longer seems rewarding enough. Roland was a typical example. He had worked as a kitchen fitter many years ago before he gained his qualifications for IT work.

With a number of years experience working with computers and networking, he reached the decision that electrical work would be the best way forward for himself.

Now that the Government has laid down clear legislation for domestic electrical work and how compliance can be achieved, more and more people are taking the Total Electrical route towards gaining the new skills they require.

The course provides an excellent platform for launching a domestic electrical installation career offering a good basic introduction, a large proportion of practical workshop time as well as the necessary, nationally recognised qualifications. The feeling that somebody gets when their employment prospects have been broadened can be quite exciting and it’s not unusual for us to get an e-mail when the course is over praising the tutors and the way the course was run. Here are just a few words that Roland felt he would like to share with us:-

“Well mate, I received my 2391 the other week. Couldn't believe it. Sorry it's taken a while to write this but my life is manic at the moment”. “Gotta say mate your course is the best thing I have ever done. I've always worked in IT (earlier years in kitchen fitting) and although it's been good, I've never really felt as though I had a trade. Now I do. I feel like someone, a sparks and it feels great. I need to get my self into gear and get doing some work asap before I start to lose the knowledge”! “All the very best” Roland (keep the doughnuts coming) – (Hitchin, Hertfordshire)
