Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Electrics - 5 Day
CITB-RE-5
Description
A five day course aimed at anyone involved with refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump electrical control systems.
The course covers the three elements which are common to most refrigeration and air conditioning systems, namely, protection, control and motors. For example, a typical air conditioning split system will have protection provided by the fuse in the fused connection unit, and further protection provided to the cable feeding the fused connection unit, probably by a circuit breaker, control provided by thermostat and time clock etc… and motor driven fans and compressor.
Emphasis is also placed upon the applicable wiring regulations to ensure the constructed system is compliant with BS 7671:2008. The aim of the course is to provide enough knowledge to allow installation, verification, commissioning and fault finding to be safely and effectively carried out.
Whilst the intention of the course is to meet and exceed the above aims, it also needs to be understood that domestic dwellings now fall within the statutory control of Building Regulations and this course would provide the minimum necessary qualifications to enrol with a Part P scheme provider such as the NICEIC, allowing notifiable works to be legally undertaken.
The course comprises of:
- Construction Skills (CITB) - Essential Electrics Module
- Construction Skills (CITB) - Refrigeration Electrics Module
- City and Guilds 2382-10 Level 3 - 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
The course costs include examination entry fees, a buffet lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
