Computer Aided Design Courses
CAD01
Description
CAD Fundamentals (3-5 days)
This is the first course in our series of Professional Level training courses and focuses on CAD Fundamentals. It assumes that the student has a basic understanding of computers and the operating system and needs to learn how to create basic drawings using CAD. This course will cover setting up the CAD workspace environment, basic draw and edit tools, object snaps, view control parameters, selection sets, layer control, polylines, text and hatching, basic dimensioning concepts, creating and using BLOCKS, and general plotting concepts. This course is intended to allow engineers to create, modify and
develop drawings.
CAD Advanced (4 days)
This course will cover advanced drawing tools such as splines, multi-lines and construction lines; advanced editing techniques such as grips, running OSNAPS, filters, and poly line editing; advanced utilities such as aliases, system variables, system management, toolbar customisation, external references and attributes; and some advanced dimensioning concepts and the plotting concepts of paper space and model space.
CAD 3D Modeling (3 days)
This course will cover the basics of wireframe, surface, and solid modeling. Topics include 3-D coordinate entry, user coordinate systems, utilising multiple viewports, and view rotation commands, thickness, elevation, 3D faces, ruled surfaces, extruded surfaces, revolved surfaces, solid and surface primitives, extruded solids, revolved solids, swept solids, composite solids, 3D editing tools, analytical features, utilizing paper space and model space for 3D, and an introduction to visualisation and rendering.
